Review: Rehoboth Beach & Dewey Beach, Delaware

Hi all! I just spent the weekend in Rehoboth Beach, DE and it was a great way to spend time with John and our dog Mia. This location is an extremely dog friendly place to visit which was great for us! We stayed at Atlantic Oceanside Resort, 1700 Coastal Hwy, Dewey Beach, DE 19971. If your a dog parent like me this was an extremely dog friendly hotel to stay at. Everyone had their pooches with them! They had an upstairs balcony with chairs and tables, free breakfast (love free things!), a pool, a gym, and a dog friendly beach only feet away (About a 30 second walk).

The only downfall to this hotel was that it’s located near a bar that plays EXTREMELY loud music at night. Depending on your room, this could be better or worse. If you’re a light sleeper this may be a problem, but John and I are heavy sleepers so this wasn’t a huge issue.

This describes love.

Mia didn’t go in the pool on this resort because I thought it would be rude to other people staying here but it was nice to have her hang out at the pool area with us.

The dog friendly beach “Dewey Beach” is great to visit in the early mornings or late evenings. It’s best to go to when not a lot of people are on the beach and there’s less traffic. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9:30A.M. and after 5:30P.M.

Fail: You can see myself taking the selfie in the sun glasses, whoops!

We went for a walk at “Fresh Pond Trail Head” located at DE-1, Bethany Beach, DE 19930. This was a nice easy walk but please be advised there were A LOT of tics. Many tics were all over our Mia. So if you have a dog it is best to not go here. We counted about 20 plus tics on her, EW!

Other than the tics this was a great place I could see bike riding or taking a nice morning stroll.

Rehoboth Beach, DE is such a fun place to be! It’s a street that has a ton of little shops for clothes, food, and tourists on both sides of a road. The road leads to a boardwalk with mini golf, games, and the ocean of course. Click here for a list of Rehoboth Beach, DE activities.

For lunch we grabbed 2 lobster rolls at “Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls” at 67 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

If you like Lobster Rolls this is probably the best place to go! This restaurant was packed with people so we thought it must be good! In all honesty I have never had lobster before. I learned I’m not a fan of lobster but the rolls the lobster was in was AMAZING. They also make grilled cheeses and I can only imagine they’re fantastic.

FYI, this lunch also cost about $50.00, lobster is not cheap!

We spent the whole day walking around Rehoboth and stopping in all the shops. They had tons of ice cream, candy, and knick knack stores. During the weekend we visited Rehoboth, they had an event taking place called “Spring sidewalk sale.” All the stores had product out in front that were half the price of what their items would normally be. Talk about going broke! There was so much I was tempted to buy. I’m sucker for deals. Every weekend there seems to be something new occurring in town so definitely check out their calendar online if you’re planning to visit!

For dinner we went to “Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats” located at 320 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

We were recommended to eat here by all my family and friends so we obviously had to give it a shot. We also ate here because it was dog friendly and I was able to bring Mia.

For an appetizer we got the “Dogpile Nachos” which were SO yummy. I definitely recommend this dish.

Dogpile Nachos” Yum!
Mia definately wanted all the nachos!

For dinner John ordered a Wood-Fired Pizza and I ordered a Wood-Grilled Burger. We then took both entrees and split them. We clearly like to share.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone new to the area who wants to eat some good grub! I didn’t try any of the desserts because I had my heart set on ice cream but that will be on my list for next time.

This was a fun weekend getaway I would recommend. This area has so much to do and you can even take an hour Ferry ride over to Cape May, NJ. Click here to learn more about Cape May, NJ! I definitely would be interested in coming back and finding new areas to explore. I love to visit anywhere that is dog friendly so Mia can tag along as well!

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you end up going to Delaware let me know how your experience was and if you did anything I did not list! Excited to hear from you 🙂
